Defender Savy King is set to rejoin the United States women’s national team setup next week, participating in the under-23 squad’s upcoming activities. This selection represents a major milestone for the young athlete, marking her initial international involvement since she experienced a frightening cardiac event in May 2025.

Background on the Medical Emergency

The health scare occurred earlier last year, abruptly halting a promising trajectory for the talented defender. Medical evaluations and subsequent recovery protocols required her to step away from the pitch to prioritize her long-term well-being and cardiovascular health.

Road to Recovery and Return to Play

Navigating a return to elite-level sports after a heart-related medical episode demands immense resilience and careful clearance from medical specialists. Through dedicated rehabilitation and cautious progression back into team training, the defender successfully rebuilt her fitness.

Significance of the U23 Call-Up

Receiving a nod for the under-23 national team demonstrates that the coaching staff recognizes her current form and physical readiness. It signals a complete return to competitive viability at the highest developmental levels of American soccer.

Looking Ahead in International Soccer

With this latest milestone achieved, the path forward opens up new opportunities for club and country. The football community closely monitors her progress as she resumes her career on the international stage.
