India’s top shooters marked Olympic Day 2025 with renewed determination and pride, reflecting on their historic medal haul at the Paris 2024 Olympics and setting ambitious goals for the Los Angeles 2028 Games. The celebration comes on the heels of a strong showing at the ISSF World Cup 2025 in Munich, where Indian shooters bagged four medals—two gold and two bronze.
🥇 Paris 2024: A Breakthrough Moment for Indian Shooting
India’s 21-member shooting contingent competed across all 15 events in Paris, with Manu Bhaker making history by winning two medals—in the women’s 10m air pistol and the 10m air pistol mixed team event alongside Sarabjot Singh. She became the first Indian athlete to win two medals in a single Olympic edition.
Swapnil Kusale added to the tally with a bronze in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions, making shooting India’s most successful sport at the Games with three out of six total medals.
“Our success at the Paris Olympics has sparked a fire within all of us,” said Sarabjot Singh. “We’re confident Indian shooters will shine even brighter in LA 2028.”
🎯 Olympic Day: A Moment of Reflection and Motivation
Celebrated globally on June 23, Olympic Day commemorates the founding of the modern Olympic Games in 1894. For Indian shooters, it’s a day to honor their journey and recommit to excellence.
“The eyes of the nation are upon us now,” said Kusale. “It’s a responsibility, but also a motivation to keep pushing forward.”
