Top Indian shooters Rahi Sarnobat, Mehuli Ghosh, and Niraj Kumar delivered standout performances at the National Shooting Selection Trials 3 & 4 held at the Trishul Shooting Range in Dehradun, clinching top spots in their respective events and reinforcing their credentials ahead of major international competitions.
🥇 Rahi Sarnobat Dominates Women’s 25m Pistol Final
2018 Asian Games gold medallist Rahi Sarnobat claimed victory in the T4 final of the women’s 25m pistol, scoring 40 hits to finish six points ahead of Maharashtra’s Abhidnya Ashok Patil (34). Haryana’s Vibhuti Bhatia secured third place with 27 hits.
- In qualification, both Rahi and Olympian Rhythm Sangwan scored 582, but Rhythm topped with 18 inner 10s to Rahi’s 16.
- Other finalists included Anjali Choudhary, Heena Sidhu, Chinki Yadav, and Ishneet Aulakh.
🎯 Mehuli Ghosh Tops Women’s 10m Air Rifle
Asian champion Mehuli Ghosh clinched the T4 final of the women’s 10m air rifle with a score of 253.6, narrowly edging out Meghana M Sajjanar (253.1). Sonam Uttam Maskar took third with 231.4, just 0.1 ahead of Olympian Ramita Jindal.
- Ramita had led the qualification with 633.5, followed by Mehuli (633.3).
- The final lineup also featured Tilottama Sen, Kashika Pradhan, Narmada Nithin, and Rajshree Anilkumar.
🔫 Niraj Kumar Clinches Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions
Navy marksman Niraj Kumar delivered a clinical performance in the T3 final of the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions, scoring 463.9 to beat Army’s Babu Singh Panwar (457.3) and two-time Olympian Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar (447.0).
- Babu Singh had topped qualification with 591-32x, followed by Swapnil Kusale (590-42x) and Niraj (590-35x).
- The top eight also included Nikhil Tanwar, Surya Pratap Singh Banshtu, Rudrankksh Patil, and Pratham Bhadana.

The same shooters will return for the T4 qualification and finals in the men’s 3P event. Sunday’s schedule also features the 10m air pistol T3 events for both men and women.
